It’s Time for Africa...
The countdown to the 2010 World Cup is over and as of 16:00 (CAT), the first game of the much-anticipated football event will kick off with the host country, South Africa, taking on the highly regarded Mexico at Soccer City in Johannesburg.
This is the biggest event to hit the African continent, and many football fans within South Africa have certainly gotten into the football spirit with what has been termed "football Fridays”, all donning the national team jersey each Friday as a show of support and unison. In a country shrouded in much past political turmoil, this feast of unity definitely showcases what a vibrant and rainbow nation the beautiful country has become.
